Lightning
"My father farmed four miles north of town, and one summer morning he went to the pasture to check his livestock.  He found one Holstein calf with all of its black hair gone, and all of the white hair intact!  We wondered what could or would destroy only the black hair and come to no decision.  So our local veterinarian was called to the farm.  He made the diagnosis that lightning from the storm that day had ‘burned’ off all the black hair when lightning struck nearby, as black absorbs heat.  Eventually, all the black hair grew back but what a funny patchwork job that lightning bolt did, and it followed every spot so very, very exactly that not one black hair was left on that calf."
